OUR RECORDS ARE OPEN TO EXTERNAL VERIFICATION, SAYS ONDO GOVT.

The Ondo State government has said it has nothing in its record to hide from internal and external verification bodies.

Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan made the declaration when he hosted the Independent Verification Agents (I.V.A) on the NG-CARES in his office.

Igbasan explained that the government had nothing to fear about its dealings, activities and implementation of programs.

"We have no restriction, or bottlenecks to hinder encumbrances to block or hinder any organization or body from verifying our claims to enable them cine out with a credible report".

While commending the World Bank and the Federal Government for coming up with the initiative, he applauded the design of the program.

"This is the best design I have seen since I have been a Vocal person for the World Bank. It has controls and safeguards embedded therein. It should be replicated for other programs."

He appealed to the team to make a thorough investigation of all the processes and outcomes to enable the State to know where to sit up and improve.

Leader of the NG-CARES I.V.A team, Dr. Olanrewaju Ariyo said the controls and safeguards were put in place to serve as checks and balances against false claims.

The IVA team is in Ondo State for the second round of verification of claims made by delivery platforms.

The parley was attended by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Bayo Phillip, the State Coordinator of OD-CARES, Mr. Bamidele Daisi, and representatives of the delivery platforms on OD-CARES.
